The Brightlingsea Coastal Sailing Centre is an RYA Training Centre offering a wide range of dinghy and powerboat courses and is operated as a joint venture between North London Youth Sailing Trust, a Registered Charity No. 1015997 which owns and operates the boats and sailing equipment, and North London Sailing Association which owns and operates the building.

The Centre and its fleet of dinghies and powerboats are available for use by organised groups from other sailing organisations if under the supervision of an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor/Powerboat Instructor who has completed an induction at the Centre and is currently registered by the Centre.  The Centre can also organise RYA courses for such organisations using Senior Dinghy Instructors/Powerboat Instructors who are currently registered by the Centre.

With a long maritime tradition of fishing and boat building, Brightlingsea is a well know centre for leisure boating, providing a huge expanse of sheltered estuary and coastal waters ideal for RYA dinghy and powerboat courses, dinghy day cruising and racing at all states of the tide.

The Centre is in the small Essex town of Brightlingsea, situated on the Colne estuary between Colchester and Clacton and has a fleet of 6 Wayfarer dinghies and 2 Safety boats and residential facilities for 16.
